The only thing missing from the box was a pen or pencil, so we went on the hunt for writing material, found a pencil and left our message, along with the pencil.
Until today, we had never heard of letterboxing and doing a little research, we found that it’s a popular outdoor hobby where clues are given to the location of the box. Each box contains a stamp so that you have proof you found the treasure. You then mark a page with your own stamp if you have one and leave a message for others.
I’d tell you where we found it, but that would just spoil the fun, wouldn’t it :)
Update: 3/25/12 – This letterbox is by Keltic Kara and is the Lumbertown Series #1 (of 4) LbNA # 9807.
