Your Neighbors Financial Information

Your neighbors may look like they are living the good life, they may drive nice cars, go on vacations and seem happy as a lark, but are they really doing that good? What if I told you that right now, you can, anonymously, look up their home loan information?

If they have a home in Muskegon County, chances are you’ll find any deeds associated with that property, included refinance and pay off information. You’ll be amazed at the type of data that is readily available just for the clicking.

For example, say you wanted to know about Jon Doe. Simply type in Doe, Jon, set the records per page to 100 and click Query.

You’ll receive a listing of all the Mortgage, Warranty, Quick Claim and Discharged deeds known for Jon.

For example, you might find that Jon recently refinanced his home and now owes more than it’s worth.

You might even find that Jon not only paid his house off, but owns 10 other homes (all paid for) and is actually the millionaire next door driving around in a yugo.

Personally, I don’t appreciate this information being made available and I really don’t think it’s anyone’s business what financial state I’m in. The only thing I can do is raise awareness and hope that someone with a lot of influence can make a change.

This recently happened when an executive of a popular search engine had their private information displayed for the world to see - change happened pretty fast at that point.
