The letter above is a copy of an email I recieved and is a scam! The link to the Bank of the West is really a link to another site that appears to be the Bank of the West. If you enter your account information on that ‘fake’ site, you’ll actually be giving it to a crook.
You should use caution when you receive these messages and call the bank whenever in doubt.

Want to ruin the crooks day? Here is what I do (time permitting). I know it’s a scam because I can tell the url has fake anchor text, so I visit it anyway, then enter fla se information that looks real. If enough people do this, then the person running the scam ends up with bad records.
What does a bad record do for you? Nothing, expect increase the chance the hacker will get caught because he entered too many false records - which could land him in jail
