Ricoh Company Job Offer Scam

Here is a phishing attempt using what appears to be an old job description from Ricoh. They send you the following email with the job description below as an attachment.

The scammers have modified the document and added their own contact information, as is clearly evident from their email address of ricohcompanyreps.dept@lr78.com; lr78.com is a 1and1 account with hidden registration – Ricoh does not use 1and1 and hide their contact information.

The trick is to make the email look legitimate but have your response with personal information sent to the scammer’s address. Once they have that, it’s all over…

Here is the email sent from notice@ricoh-co-uk.ihostexchange.net – by the way, see the ihostexchange.net part of the email, that’s what you want to look at – it should say something like ricoh.com, but they stick in ricoh-co-uk inside the address so it looks real – it is not!
