Organic Baby Clothes

How green are you? As I woke to David Moore, I heard that Target now has organic baby clothes! You’re probably wondering what they are and how they look on a person. Take for example the organic shoes shown below - most people assume shoes, shirts, and pants would look like this (ouch!).

Organic Shoes

Fact is, organic clothing looks nothing like the shoes shown in the picture and you would be hard pressed to tell the difference from any other clothing.

Conventional cotton depended on heavy doses of toxic chemical herbicides and pesticides. Every T-shirt made of conventional cotton requires 1/4 pound of harmful chemicals. According to the USDA, in one year alone over 50 million pounds of pesticides were used on U.S. cotton fields. These pesticides deplete the soil and pollute watersheds.

Organically grown cotton on the other hand contains no toxins or synthetic fertilizers and is produced without the use of harsh chemical bleaches or dyes, plus it’s allergy free. Natural fertilizers and pest control, such as ladybugs which destroy harmful insects, have helped make growing organic cotton a reality.

Target now carries a number of products made from organically grown cotton, including: shirts and pants, bed sheets, organic baby clothes, towels and underwear

Trying to find organic clothes was difficult and only available on the internet, but now, with Target’s new commitment to green, you can’t afford not to go green as well!
