It’s time to back up my laptop and burning DVDs to move data doesn’t get it, hence my external hard drive reviews.
Standby Generators
December 6, 2009 by Jim · Leave a Comment
I recently decided to buy a home standby generator when I heard that this winter is going to be worse than last year!
I wanted something that would power the entire house (heat, dryer, TV and VCR, stove, fridge, fish tanks, etc). Long story short, I received three quotes and rather than pay $7,000 – I saved myself $5,000 and ended up with a standby generator that is portable rather than stationary.

Executive Physical – Health Risk Assessment
October 14, 2009 by Jim · 5 Comments
I’ve been scheduled for an Executive Physical to help assess my current health and to help clue me in to problems that may arise down the road. It is an intensive battery of tests conducted in one day, tests that would otherwise take months to complete going through your family doctor.

John Deere Hydrostatic Transmission Fix

My John Deere won’t climb hills after it’s been running for about 15 minutes. It happens slowly and eventually, it just stops climbing; a few years back, the hill was no problem but now I have to let it rest for 30 minutes and then finish mowing. My wife suggested I stop eating and that the extra weight was putting undue wear and tear on my riding lawn mower…
Roll in Dock
June 3, 2009 by Jim · 4 Comments
I feel a bit guilty this time of year as I watch my neighbors spend days installing their wooden docks. It is not something that one person would want to tackle and usually involves bribing family and friends to help with the installation. Of course, you can hire a company to come out and install it for you, but you’re looking at $500+ per install (depending on the length of the dock) and then another $500 to uninstall before winter.

Harbortown Furniture
Sealy’s Harbortown Furniture has been having a going out of business sale for a long time now, in fact, it’s the longest sale I’ve ever seen!
I stopped by and noticed a number of customers walking out laughing and empty handed, not a good sign…
