Muskegon Webcam – City Lake View

Looking for a web cam in Muskegon or West Michigan and the Lake? If so, you’re in the right spot! Below, I have listed a number of web cams that you can view. My personal favorites are the Lake Michigan Web Cam at Muskegon which gives me a good idea of when the fish are just outside the arms (Lighthouse).

Noaa offers a great set of Lake Michigan web cams at http://www.glerl.noaa.gov/webcams/

GLERL webcams, like that above, are provided as a public service and free to everyone. The NOAA/GLERL Muskegon webcam array is located at the Lake Michigan Field Station (LMFS) in Muskegon, Michigan.

Four cameras take pictures throughout the day and then upload those pictures to the NOAA Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL) in Ann Arbor, Michigan and then placed on their public server.

Curious what is going on in downtown Muskegon? Check out the webcam at [currently down] If you have not seen downtown Muskegon lately, you should, it’s most impressive! Find out for yourself why you should Retire In Muskegon!

Torresen Marine has a nice webcam of their waterfront on Muskegon Lake that can be used to view the conditions. The webcam takes a picture every so often, then posts it to the web, so it is delayed a few minutes. The image is located below or you can view it at http://www.torresen.com/web_cam/images/torresen1.jpg

Webcam in the back of my house of the Muskegon Mountains. Very calm today! :)

As more webcams become available, I’ll update this page. If you know of a webcam that should be included, please leave a comment with the link and description so that I can add it to the list.

BTW – Latest wave forecast for Lake Michigan just outside Muskegon Lake and great for fishing can be found at http://weather.noaa.gov/pub/data/forecasts/marine/near_shore/lm/lmz849.txt
