I received this email today from Paul Nettlefold to Paul Nettlefold but with my email address (usually indicates spam!). I hate to miss a good thing (remember the payout when Yahoo first started!) and decided to do a little research.

The site is registered to Pay Group International Pty Ltd, 18 Roswell St, Glen Waverley, Melbourne, Victoria 3150, Australia.

I found posts that show Ikojo was an attempt at a search engine in 2007 that was going to offer free web hosting. That search engine no longer exists, but here was their about statement:

It appears that they are now giving contextual advertising a shot. I am not sure if they are the original owners.

Here is the unsolicited email I received today:

My Take: I think I’ll skip the offer. If it can pass the scrutiny of webmasterworld and obtain positive feedback from seasoned mods, then I’ll be happy to give them a shot.

Nice, right? First, I am sent unsolicited email and when I tell others about it, I’m threatened!

I never said the company was a scam, I used the word spam. Spam is unsolicited email, a perfect example is listed above.

Threats never make a startup company (or any company for that matter) look good!
