Ice Shanty
Well, the ice fishing season has come to an end and this year we were fortunate enough not to have any fatalities, however, we did have one ice shanty that just isn’t going to make it.
In the picture below, the owner of this ice shanty was a bit overly optimistic in the longevity of the ice and by the time they get back this weekend, they’ll be in for a surprise.

What they need now is to find some ice fishing house plans and start over

You are lucky to have captured this photo as it has since sank to the bottom of the lake during a rescue operation!
The North Muskegon Fire department decided to use the ice shanty as a rescue exercise. Locals watching the event stated that one of the fire fighters laid on the ice for many minutes after getting out of the cold, frigid water. If the fire crew felt that exhausted after being in the water (with the right gear), imagine how you would feel with just your cloths to protect you!
The spot where the ice shanty went down is going to be an excellent fishing hole this year
